Honey Citrus Ham

Ingredients

spiral cut smoked ham half

¼ cup honey

¼ cup spicy brown or whole grain mustard

¼ teaspoon ground ginger

1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 orange, juiced

1 lemon, juiced

1 lime, juiced

1 cup ginger ale or similar soda

Directions

Use a 6-quart slow cooker or similar sized cast iron pot. Unwrap the ham & discard the flavor packet. Place the ham into the pot flat side down.

In a small bowl combine honey, mustard, ginger, cloves & cinnamon. Smear this paste evenly all over the ham (not the cut flat side). You may do this the the day before cooking, but at least an hour or two before cooking.

Combine the juices in the same bowl, stirring to get all the remaining goodies out of the bowl Pour this and the ginger ale over the ham.

Cover and cook on low for about 5 hours. If using stove, cook in a very slow oven for several hours.

When ready to serve, place ham on a large tray to remove the slices and chunks to a serving dish. Boil juices rapidly to reduce. Pour over slices to serve, if desired.
